First Episode of Buried in America
Located in Mineola, Texas, the House of the Raccoon, also known as the O.P. Pyle House, is one of the most haunted attractions in east Texas.
Constructed in 1903 by O.P. Pyle on land once roamed by the Wichita Indian Tribe (the Raccoon People), the house boasts a unique Queen Anne style crafted by local artisans “Zonn” Wren and his brothers William and Frank Wren.
The structure endures various historical events, including the civil war, attracting a mix of supernatural entities that linger in the location. The property features a spiritual vortex, acting as a revolving door for spiritual activity, which varies in intensity. Some negative spiritual energy and unsettling experiences in one of the cottages have also been reported. The parents of the longtime owners, who have held the house for years, rest on the property, with another family member buried under the gazebo.
Jason, Wendy, and Gene investigate the House of the Raccoon in the first episode of the pilot series Buried in America.
